yay addiction.

So I’ve recently acknowledged my addiction to American Apparel. Jeez louise. American Apparel. How I love your comfy cotton clothing. I love everything about their stuff. Seriously. My favorites are usually found in the unisex section because my new fave thing is to tone down the conventional means of dressing “sexy” or to appear voluptuous or whatever. I find it much more intriguing to dress with a general idea of color and proportion and shape, and then to emphasize one key aspect of my ensemble. I usually go about doing this through layering and attention to form and fit when choosing pieces of my wardrobe. The one thing I’m not especially crazy about when it comes to American Apparel is their employees. They’re either too fashionable, or hot, or flamboyant, or pushy, or indifferent to ever really help you out or to give you the impression that they give a damn about what you’re about to buy from them. I hate the actual experience of shopping in the store, even though I love their minimalist/neobrutalist approach to design and layout, because I always get the impression that I am “unworthy” of their merchandise…seriously…what gives them the right to look down on every person to walk through the doors merely because they’ve had the opportunity to think about every aspect of their wardrobe for hours. Okej…that’s enough ranting about that for right now, I think…
