gimme five

ok. so, the internship at the capital is complete. The last day of session was the 5th, and it was kinda sad…especially since I didn’t get to stay for the whole thing :( studio demanded my presence, so, my last day of work was cut pretty short. SO, as for the rest of my life, things are going pretty well…the big “greek goddess” competition was yesterday…i represented my sorority…(fun times). David Ascano has decided that he wants to go into fashion design, so I gave him the chance to design my toga. Haha…I’m not sure, really, but it may have actually counted against me that it looked SO good. I don’t know if they believed that it was homemade or not…it was amazing…look for pictures later…David rocks my face off, basically.

SO- as for my current feelings on design, I’m already disenchanted with our final studio project, but I’ll get back to that later…

I bought some “5” gum the other day, and it was kind of a life-changing experience. The packaging is fantastic…after talking to others about the design, I’ve learned that the gum was actually made as a “designer gum.” They didn’t care a whole lot about the gum itself, but the packaging is reminescent of cigarette packaging, and the gum pieces themselves are the ‘old school’ stick kind. My fav. Except, they last forever…which is perfect. There are raised and depressed parts to the package, making it fun to hold, and the gum wrappers are super shiny and awesome, an amazing contrast to the matte black of the exterior package. Also, the packaging has all of these implied “5”s randomly hidden everywhere…like, in the way that the package closes and the “recycling-guy” symbol… very cool stuff…
